... Packing Tips For An Easier Move To Your New Home
Moving is already chaos... Now imagine that you and your crew are unloading the moving truck when nature calls. If you are anything like me, the boxes either didn't get labeled correctly or you just throw in a ton of random mis-matched items. You are opening up every box as it comes out of the truck and for the life of you, you cannot find the toilet paper!!! What do you do now? Hopefully you read this blog and already had a plan for the unpredictable.
Below you will find a list of household items that are likely to come in handy the first couple hours you move into your new home. Set aside one box and make sure to label it (if you don't, you will be sorry and this will all have been for nothing). Maybe this box even goes in the passenger seat of your car in order to prevent it from getting mixed up in the shuffle. We have broken up the necessities into 3 main categories (Important Basics, Kitchen Keeper, Personal Necessities).
Important Basics:
Flashlight with batteries
Hammer
Pens and paper
Important documents
House and mail keys + Garage door opener
Phone and tablet charger (maybe even the wireless router)
Kitchen Keepers:
Paper plates
Paper towels
Plastic cutlery
Bottle opener or wine key
Hand soap
Coffee maker
Personal Necessities:
Shower curtain
Deodorant
Travel sized soap, shampoo, and conditioner
A few rolls of toilet paper
Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
A few bath towels
Pjs for that night
Medication
The items on the above list are likely to come in handy the very first night you spend at your new home. Keeping these items separate from the clutter and chaos that are likely to ensue, will help your first night in your new home feel more stable and organized.
